Breweries

Let's talk travel

A bit of a passion...

Charmaine’s passion for craft beers has lead her to discover many of the best breweries to visit around NZ and the rest of the world!

ParrotDog

ParrotDog was started by two guys named Matt who were just into really good beer. The duo became inspired to try and make beer that tasted good. So it goes; they got to homebrewing out of the basement of their Aro Valley flat. Joining forces they developed thri first commercial ParrotDog recipe. Adding another Matt into the mix, they’ve grown and their brewery was born in the heart of Wellington City.

Panhead

Panhead Custom Ales apply every bit of their skill, creativity and impeccable taste to the business of brewing great craft beer. They love to strip a brew back to its essence and rebuild it in a way that honours tradition as well as the alchemy of creation. At their new brewery headquarters in Upper Hutt they’re turning out beers with character bursting from the glass, streamlined vehicles for malt, yeast and serious hopping. Enjoy them, share them and let them know what you think.

Kereru

Kereru Brewing are located in Upper Hutt and brew British & European style craft beer. Their mission is to produce fresh, locally-supplied beers made from the finest ingredients available. The beers they make are vegan and free of chemical preservatives. (Hops, the low ph of beer and alcohol are all natural preservatives). Wherever possible they use New Zealand Gladfield malts and New Zealand grown hops to celebrate the marvellous qualities and flavours which are part of our local landscape.

Baylands Brewery

A brewery and brewing supplies business based in Petone, Lower Hutt. The creation of Aidan Styles and Steve Young, a passionate business brewing great beers and supplying the brewing community.

Garage Project

Garage because it started in a garage, but it’s more than that. It’s also about approaching things with a garage mentality. It’s about playing around, making do and thinking outside the box. The surroundings might be basic but this is no barrier to creativity. This is bière de garage – beer from the garage

Tuatara - The Third Eye

Brewing started with a guy named Carl Vasta in the hills above Waikanae. Using converted dairy tanks he began supplying friends, family and good mate Sean Murrie, who ran beer specialty bar The Malthouse and was on the hunt for good local product. The two decided to go into business together and the rest, as they say, is history. These days, with a big local investor behind them, a big new plant in Paraparaumu, and plans to quadruple their output volume over the next few years, Tuatara is at the top of their game.

Hawaiian Breweries

Honolulu Beerworks

Their mission is to bring the Oahu community together. They hope to accomplish this by offering craft beer that everyone can enjoy. Continuing with their artsy neighborhood, they used their surroundings as inspiration for their interior design. Their large warehouse offers a rustic feel for their up and coming Kaka’ako Community. The recycled wooden wall, benches and cabinets provide the perfect ambiance to let loose and drink a few of their local brews. At Beerwork’s they encourage new friendships by providing community style seating. Aloha, is the way of the island’s and the way everyone should drink. They say don’t be shy and cheers your bench neighbour.

Kaua'i Island Brewery

They are a microbrewery/brewpub, with a showcase copper-clad brewhouse, featuring up to 10 house beers on tap, plus several rotating guest beers both on tap and in bottles. On the kitchen side their pub-fare menu includes a large choice of pupus, soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers as well as a variety of fresh fish and mouth-watering entrees. They also feature a keiki menu for the little ones. Their full bar serves wine, mixed drinks and cocktails. There are five 55″ flat screen HDTVs throughout the pub to watch all the games. Brewery tours are available upon request.

Charmaine has been amazing. We only had a vague idea about where we wanted to go as a family. Over dozens of messages she helped us whittle it down and we’d decided on Bali. Charmaine has guided us with where to stay and nice activities for the children. I feel safe taking my kids to such a foreign experience because Charmaine will be available 24/7 if anything goes wrong.
